Answer boxes

This section creates areas for students to write their answers.

These can be: lines for written answers, empty boxes for calculations, graph paper or music scores. A given answer box can have combinations of these, and answer boxes can be inserted for many selected questions simultaneously. Answer box sizes are fully adjustable.

What exactly is an 'answer box'?

This is where students write their answers.


FasTest provides a very flexible system so that you can create an unlimited variety of answer boxes using any combination of 5 different styles.


Here are some of the possibilities:

  1. Lines

3. Empty box with answer line

4. Graph

How to insert/extend answer boxes:

(Assuming you have already selected the style and number of lines.)

First way – Puts one NEW answer box anywhere...

  1. Click on your document where you want the answer box to go, or inside a suitable* question box.

  2. Select the desired answer box style and height.

  3. Click the 'Insert answer boxes' button.

*NOTE: Formatting rules restrict where answer boxes can go after question boxes. (See diagram below.)

NOTE: Click multiple times to extend the answer boxes. Create a combination style by changing answer box styles between clicks. (Styles add top to bottom.)

Second way –Multiple answer box insertion/extension.

    1. As above, but first select one or more question boxes and/or answer boxes.

    2. All existing answer boxes selected will be extended.

    3. New answer boxes will be inserted according to formatting rules. (See diagram.)
